Deputy Accounts Payable Manager

An exciting position has arisen for a Deputy Accounts Payable Manager to join the team at a leading Charity based in London. The successful postholder will play a key role in supporting the Accounts Payable Manager to manage the AP Team and improve processes and systems.

Key responsibilities of the role:

• Serve as deputy to the Accounts Payable Manager, providing advice on AP issues and liaising with various teams
• Collaborate with the AP Manager to develop, implement, and maintain KPIs, SLAs, and automate processes for efficient service
• Support and manage the AP team of up to 8 staff members, setting goals, monitoring performance, and ensuring team development and retention
• Validate invoices for accurate matching to purchase orders and coding for authorisation
• Ensure VAT compliance and accurate, timely processing of supplier payments
• Manage outgoing cash processes, including payment runs and direct debits, and resolve payment run issues
• Act as the first point of escalation for supplier queries and concerns
• Ensure compliance with policies, mitigate fraud risks, and maintain clear process documentation

Ideal candidate profile:

• AAT qualified
• Extensive Accounts Payable experience in large, complex organisations with multi-fund accounting
• Experience working in the Charity sector
• Line management skills
• Experience using Agresso Accounting software
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills

Salary: £46,000 per annum + excellent benefits package

Working hours: 35 hours per week

Working pattern: Hybrid (2 days per week in office)
