Univers is establishing a Digital Battery Center of Excellence (CoE) in Singapore to attract and develop a local professional expert team that will drive technical solutions and digitalized products around battery, including battery for vehicles and energy storage. The Deputy Head of the Centre of Excellence for Digital Battery will be responsible for developing and maintaining Univers’ technology advantage in the digital battery industry by owning and charting the product/solution roadmap and strategy. Furthermore, as the deputy head, the successful candidate shall take the responsibility of developing business related to Digital Battery CoE including engaging customer, solutioning and product design to capture customer demand, generate leads and convert leads into sales.

1.    Product and Solution Development:
•    Drive the direction of Univers’ battery storage related software products towards market leading position such as fault detection, predictive health monitoring, forecast and trading.
•    Develop and maintain the product/solution roadmap and strategy for the Center of Excellence for Digital Battery to ensure Univers’ technology advantage.
•    Work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, engineering, and product, to design innovative solutions for digital battery applications, including battery passports, smart charging, and energy storage.
2.    Business Development and Customer Engagement:
•    Able to impress customer with deep domain knowhow in battery and energy storage system industry in the first engagement.
•    Develop and implement strategies to capture customer demand in the digital battery industry.
•    Identify new business opportunities and partnerships within the digital battery sector.
3.    Technology Roadmap and Innovation:
•    Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and market needs related to digital battery solutions.
•    Lead the development of prototypes and proof-of-concepts to validate ideas and ensure alignment with the product/solution roadmap.
•    Drive continuous improvement and innovation in digital battery products and solutions.

•    Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer science, or a related field. Masters/PHD will be a plus
•    At least 8+ years of experience in Energy/Battery/IoT/software industry
•    Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and lead high-performing teams
•    Proven track record of developing and delivering successful business model/products/solutions in the digital battery industry
•    Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
•    Experience working in a global, matrixed organization is a plus
•    Passion for sustainability and renewable energy is preferred
