Deputy Head Groundsperson

Join the grounds team at the Royal Grammar School Guildford as our Deputy Head Groundsperson and you'll become part of a small team of grounds professionals responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the school's grounds and gardens.

You must have at least three years' experience of sports ground and garden maintenance and a full UK driving licence. A flexible approach is essential as the role requires overtime at weekends and occasional evenings.

Responsibilities include:

• Care and maintenance of the grounds and facilities including the seasonable change around and preparation of pitches for Rugby, Football and Cricket.
• Tend, plant and cultivate the gardens at RGS and RGS Prep schools.
• Ensure all machinery and hand tools are used and maintained appropriately.
• Manage maintenance requirements and prioritise works and timings around sports fixtures and upcoming events accordingly.
• Matchdays duties.
• Liaise with and supervise all Grounds-related external contractors as directed by the Grounds Manager.
• Supervise the team and their activities in the Grounds Managers’ absence.
• Assist with the training and development of staff to enable them to reach their targets and goals.
