Job Description - Deputy Home Manager (Residential Care)

Deputy Home Manager – £30,000 | Residential Care | Learning Disabilities

Our client is seeking a compassionate, confident, and committed Deputy Home Manager to support the running of a vibrant residential care home for people with learning disabilities. This is more than just a job – it’s a chance to help create a warm, inclusive, and fun environment where every resident is supported to live life to the fullest.

The service provides personalised care within a homely and stimulating setting, with excellent leisure and therapy facilities to promote wellbeing and independence. The Deputy Home Manager will play a key role in supporting the team and ensuring high standards of care are maintained.

This full-time role is 40 hours per week, primarily worked between 9:00am and 5:00pm, but flexibility is required to meet the needs of the service and residents.

What We’re Looking For

  • Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification (or above)

  • Previous experience supporting adults with learning disabilities in a residential or supported living setting

  • Strong working knowledge of CQC regulations and safeguarding procedures

  • Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills

  • A caring and flexible approach with a commitment to empowering others

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Home Manager in the day-to-day running of the service

  • Lead, coach, and support a dedicated care team to deliver outstanding, person-centred support

  • Promote a positive, engaging, and therapeutic environment

  • Ensure care plans and risk assessments are up to date and in line with CQC standards

  • Champion safeguarding, dignity, and residents' rights at all times

  • Assist with rota planning, staff supervision, and team development

  • Build strong relationships with residents, families, and professionals

  • Act as a role model for best practice in learning disability care
