What you’ll be doing:

As the Deputy Leader, you’ll be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our residential services, ensuring that high-quality care and support are provided to young people.

You’ll lead and coordinate a team of support workers, manage schedules, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.

Due to the nature of the role, you’ll be required to be flexible and be on-call to support and address any emergencies outside of regular working hours.

Additionally, the shift pattern for this position is 2 days on and 4 days off.

On a day-to-day basis:

• You’ll assist the Manager in overseeing the operations of the care home, while providing leadership and support to the care team, ensuring the highest standards of care are consistently maintained.
• Through the development and implementation of individualized care plans tailored to each child's unique needs, you’ll foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for both children and staff.
• You’ll support staff development through training, supervision, and performance reviews, as well as participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new staff members.
• While ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, you’ll maintain accurate records and reports.

Your experience and qualifications:

• Existing Deputy Manager or Team Leader experience within a residential or social care setting.
• NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and other relevant legislation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for working with children.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle emergencies and confident in challenging behaviour and implementing physical intervention, should the need arise.
• Flexibility to work a shift pattern of 2 days on and 4 days off, including on-call responsibilities.
