Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Care
Location: Erdington, Birmingham Pay: £16.26 per hour Hours: 37.5 hours per week Working pattern: Day shifts and sleep-ins
Brookes HC Recruitment is recruiting a Deputy Manager for a children’s residential service in Erdington, Birmingham.
The service will initially support one young person, within an age range of 9–16, with learning disabilities and personal care needs. This opportunity would suit an experienced children’s residential care professional ready to support the management of a safe, nurturing and person-centred home.
Your role
*
Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the service.
*
Lead shifts and provide guidance and support to colleagues.
*
Deliver person-centred care, including personal care and support with daily routines.
*
Help young people develop independence and participate in education, hobbies and community activities.
*
Support the implementation and review of care plans and risk assessments.
*
Promote safeguarding, dignity, choice and wellbeing.
*
Maintain accurate records and clear communication across the team.
*
Respond to concerns appropriately and escalate matters when required.
*
Help maintain consistent standards of care and professional practice.
What we’re looking for
*
Previous experience in children’s residential care.
*
Leadership experience at Senior, Team Leader or Deputy Manager level.
*
Experience supporting children or young people with learning disabilities.
*
A sound understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
*
Strong communication, organisation and record-keeping skills.
*
Confidence supporting colleagues and coordinating care.
*
A patient, reliable and compassionate approach.
*
Flexibility to work day shifts and sleep-ins.
*
Willingness to complete required training and pre-employment checks.
*
The right to work in the UK.
