Lead with Purpose. Progress Your Career. Are you an experienced Deputy Manager, Team Leader or Senior Residential Support Worker with a strong background in children's residential care? We are currently recruiting for an experienced Deputy Manager / Team Leader to join an Ofsted-registered children's residential home in Ilford, North London. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced childcare professional looking to progress their career towards a Registered Manager position. You will work closely with the Registered Manager to maintain high standards of care, safeguarding and compliance while providing effective leadership to the residential care team. About the Role As Deputy Manager / Team Leader, you will support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day management of the children's home. You will help lead and develop the staff team while ensuring children and young people receive consistent, safe and high-quality care. The role involves supporting staff, maintaining safeguarding standards, contributing to care planning and risk management, and ensuring the home operates in line with Ofsted requirements and company policies. Key Responsibilities * Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the children's home. * Lead, motivate and support Residential Support Workers and promote high standards of practice. * Maintain strong safeguarding and child protection standards. * Support care plans, placement plans, risk assessments and individual care arrangements. * Provide staff guidance, coaching, supervision and support. * Maintain accurate care records, reports and documentation. * Support incident management and ensure appropriate follow-up actions are completed. * Work with social workers, families, schools and other professionals to achieve positive outcomes. * Promote independence, emotional wellbeing, education and personal development. * Support inspections, audits and quality assurance processes. * Take responsibility for the home when the Registered Manager is unavailable. * Participate in the rota, including evenings, weekends and sleep-in duties where required. About You We are looking for a confident and committed childcare professional who has previous experience within an Ofsted-registered children's residential setting. You should have at least two years' experience working in children's residential care, with previous experience as a Deputy Manager, Team Leader, Senior Residential Support Worker or in a similar leadership position. You will need strong communication and leadership skills, a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and the ability to support children and young people with emotional, behavioural or complex needs. A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare is desirable, as is experience with PMVA/MAPA, behaviour management or leadership and management qualifications. A full UK driving licence would also be advantageous. Right to work in the UK is essential.
