As Deputy Nursery Manager, you’ll play a key role in leading the team, ensuring high standards of care and education, and providing hands-on support across the setting. This role offers a balance of supernumerary time and room-based hours, giving you the chance to mentor staff, shape practice, and remain closely connected to the children’s daily experiences.

  • Confident leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team

  • A clear understanding of the EYFS framework, safeguarding procedures, and inclusive practice

  • Strong communication and organisational skills

  • A warm, proactive approach and a genuine passion for early childhood education

What’s On Offer?

  • A beautiful setting with outdoor learning spaces and a vegetable patch

  • Career progression opportunities and a clear development pathway

  • Accredited training to support your professional growth

  • Heavily discounted childcare

  • Generous annual leave and enhanced maternity/paternity packages

  • Access to a staff benefits portal with wellbeing resources and discounts

  • A competitive pension scheme

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Nursery Manager with the overall running of the setting

  • Lead, inspire, and mentor the staff team to deliver outstanding early years practice

  • Ensure compliance with all safeguarding, health and safety, and EYFS requirements

  • Build strong partnerships with families, acting as a key point of contact

  • Contribute to staff development, performance reviews, and ongoing training

  • Take responsibility in the Manager’s absence and be a positive role model in all aspects of nursery life
