Deputy Ward Manager – Mental Health Nurse


£39,500 | 40 hours per week | Rewarding Leadership Opportunity

Our client is seeking a compassionate and experienced Deputy Ward Manager to join their dedicated team. This role is based within a challenging behaviour and dementia ward, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring specialist care.

As Deputy Ward Manager, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing senior nursing leadership to the ward team, supporting the Ward Manager in ensuring high-quality, person-centred care. They will be responsible for delivering day-to-day nursing input, leading by example, and fostering a positive, supportive environment for both staff and patients.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse (RMN) looking to advance their career while benefiting from strong professional development and clinical supervision.

What We’re Looking For

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with active NMC registration.

  • Experience in a leadership or senior nursing role within mental health services.

  • Strong clinical knowledge and experience in dementia and challenging behaviours.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and team-management skills.

  • Passion for providing high-quality, patient-centred care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert nursing leadership and act as a role model for the nursing team.

  • Support the Ward Manager with clinical and operational management of the ward.

  • Ensure high standards of patient care, safety, and well-being.

  • Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff in their professional development.

  • Contribute to the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.

  • Manage delegated responsibilities from the Ward Manager.

  • Uphold best practices in dementia and challenging behaviour care.
