Job Title: Design & Manufacturing Engineer (SolidWorks / Fusion 360) Location: Cramlington Contract Type: Permanent Salary: £42,000-£45,000 Working Pattern: Full Time, Days Only
About the Role We're looking for a Design & Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This role combines product design, 3D CAD modelling and practical manufacturing engineering, offering the opportunity to take projects from initial concept through to production.
You'll play a key role in developing new products, improving existing designs and supporting manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have strong experience using SolidWorks and/or Fusion 360 and enjoy working closely with production teams to bring designs to life.
Key Responsibilities
Create detailed 3D models, assemblies and technical drawings using SolidWorks and Fusion 360 Design and develop new products from concept through to manufacture Modify and improve existing products to enhance performance, quality and manufacturability Produce manufacturing drawings, bills of materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation Support prototype development, testing and validation activities Work closely with manufacturing and production teams to ensure efficient product delivery Assist with tooling, fixtures and manufacturing process improvements Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal departments to define design requirements Support continuous improvement initiatives across both design and manufacturing functionsWhat We're Looking For
Previous experience in a Design Engineer, Product Design Engineer or Design & Manufacturing Engineer position Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and/or Fusion 360 Ability to create accurate engineering drawings and technical documentation Understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, assembly or sheet metal Practical engineering mindset with strong problem-solving skills Excellent communication and project coordination abilitiesWhat's on Offer
