The successful Design & Technology Teacher (Product Design) will inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4 to develop their design thinking and practical making skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging Design & Technology Teacher (Product Design) lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Prepare students thoroughly for GCSE Design & Technology, focusing on the product design specialism.
- Develop students' understanding of design processes, materials, and manufacturing techniques relevant to product design.
- Assess and monitor student progress in product design, providing constructive feedback as a Design & Technology Teacher (Product Design).
- Contribute to the evolution of the design and technology curriculum, specifically within product design.
- Maintain a safe and well-equipped product design workshop environment for student learning.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in Design & Technology, with a strong emphasis on Product Design.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching Design & Technology at the secondary level (Key Stages 3 & 4), with a focus on product design.
- Strong practical abilities in a range of making processes and a good understanding of design methodologies.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills essential for managing a practical subject.
- Ability to inspire students' creativity and technical proficiency within the field of product design.
- A commitment to collaborative work and a supportive approach within the technology department.
