Design and Technology Technician

The school are seeking to appoint a Design Technology Technician who aligned to our values of Hard Work, Integrity and Kindness and our mission: to ensure that every student will succeed at a good university or equivalent, thrive in their chosen field and live a great life.The successful candidate will provide high quality technical support to the Design Technology Department, in Resistant Materials and Textiles and assist teachers in classrooms when the need arises. The post-holder will have:

• Experience in the set-up, use of maintenance of a range of CAM equipment including laser cutters, 3D printers, sublimation printers and vinyl cutters.
• Possession of appropriate certificates for pillar drill, circular saw and bandsaw.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, COSHH and ESCC regulations in relation to the safe handling and storage of chemicals.
• Knowledge of safe working practices in relation to the handling and use of hazardous equipment and tools.
• The ability to use ICT (CAD / CAM) in a classroom setting.
• Experience of stock control.
• Knowledge of safeguarding children.
• Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting is desirable but not essential. If you are up for the challenge, we would like to hear from you.
