Key Responsibilities:

• 
  Preparation and Support:
  
  
  • Prepare teaching resources and materials for DT lessons across all year groups, ensuring alignment with the National Curriculum.
  
  
  • Maintain and calibrate a wide range of DT equipment, including hand and power tools, machinery, and specialist software.
  
  
  • Ensure the safe and effective use of workshops and DT facilities.
  
  
  • Assist teachers in setting up practical activities and demonstrations.
  
  
  
  


• 
  Technical Expertise:
  
  
  • Provide technical support to teachers in the design and development of DT projects.
  
  
  • Demonstrate safe and effective use of tools and equipment, offering guidance to students.
  
  
  • Maintain a comprehensive inventory of tools, materials, and consumables, ensuring timely replenishment.
  
  
  • Conduct minor repairs and maintenance on DT equipment as needed.
  
  
  
  


• 
  Health & Safety:
  
  
  • Implement and maintain high standards of health and safety within the DT workshops, adhering to all regulations.
  
  
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and safety briefings for students and staff.
  
  
  • Ensure the safe storage and disposal of hazardous materials.
  
  
  
  


• 
  Organisation and Communication:
  
  
  • Maintain a well-organised and efficient working environment in the DT workshops.
  
  
  • Communicate effectively with DT teachers, other staff members, and students.
  
  
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of the DT department as a whole.
  
  
  
  

The Ideal Candidate:

• Possesses a relevant qualification in Design & Technology, Engineering, or a related field (desirable).


• Demonstrates a strong understanding of health and safety regulations within a workshop environment.


• Has experience working with a variety of tools, machinery, and materials used in DT education.
