We are recruiting for a Design Draughtsperson on behalf of our client, a well-established engineering business known for producing high-quality, bespoke engineered products.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised and detail-focused Design Draughtsperson with strong 2D and 3D CAD skills who takes pride in producing accurate drawings, maintaining engineering documentation and ensuring design information is kept up to date.
Working as part of the design engineering team, you'll be responsible for producing and updating engineering drawings, maintaining CAD data and standard parts, creating BOMs and supporting engineers with the documentation required to take products through manufacture and installation.
What You'll Be Responsible For
* Producing and updating detailed 2D manufacturing and engineering drawings
* Creating and modifying 3D CAD models using Autodesk Inventor
* Maintaining the CAD data management library and ensuring engineers have access to the latest drawings and standard parts
* Taking ownership of drawing updates, revisions and standard product/part changes
* Producing manufacturing drawings for proprietary and bespoke parts
* Supporting Design Engineers with drawing, documentation and information management activities
Key Duties
* Producing detailed manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor
* 3D modelling of product updates, modifications and new components
* Maintaining and revising standard engineering parts and drawings
* Managing drawing revisions and ensuring engineering information remains accurate
* Daily maintenance of the CAD data library and associated file structures
* Maintaining ERP part numbering
* Creating and maintaining standard Bills of Materials (BOMs)
* Producing manufacturing issue packs
* Producing installation drawing packs
* Creating manufacturing drawings and BOMs for proprietary call-ups and occasional small works
* Developing new parts and products for addition to the standard CAD library
What they are looking for:
* Around 1–2 years' relevant design/draughting experience following a degree, or an HNC/HND in an engineering discipline
* Good 3D CAD modelling skills, ideally Autodesk Inventor
* Good 2D CAD/draughting skills, ideally AutoCAD
* Experience producing engineering and manufacturing drawings
* Good understanding of BOMs, drawing revisions and engineering documentation
* Autodesk Vault knowledge would be advantageous
* Knowledge of ERP systems, ideally EFACS, would be beneficial

* Highly organised, with the ability to manage large numbers of drawings, parts and BOMs
* Detail-oriented, with a sharp eye for part numbers, revisions, quantities, dimensions and drawing accuracy
* Comfortable working closely with Design Engineers and manufacturing teams
