Role Overview

We are seeking an adaptable and design-focused Lighting Designer to contribute to a variety of creative and technically challenging projects. This role will be tailored depending on the successful candidate's level of experience-Junior, Intermediate, or Senior-and offers strong career development opportunities within a collaborative, product-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Junior Lighting Designer

• Support senior designers in the development of lighting concepts and schemes.
• Assist in producing technical drawings, 3D visualisations, and photometric calculations (Dialux/Relux).
• Prepare presentation materials and support client communications.
• Participate in project and site meetings.
• Liaise with internal teams to develop bespoke lighting solutions.

Intermediate Lighting Designer

• Independently manage the design of lighting schemes from concept to delivery.
• Develop photometric calculations, product specifications, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate directly with architects, consultants, and product development teams.
• Conduct site visits and client meetings to assess requirements and provide guidance.
• Provide mentorship and support to junior staff.

Senior Lighting Designer

• Lead the creative and technical delivery of major lighting design projects.
• Build and manage client relationships across multiple sectors.
• Provide strategic input into product development and design innovation.
• Oversee project workflows, ensuring delivery on time and to specification.
• Represent the business at industry events, client presentations, and technical workshops.
• Support team leadership and mentoring of junior colleagues.

Candidate Requirements

Level Required, Skills and Experience

Junior

• Degree in Lighting Design, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related discipline.
• 0-2 years of experience in lighting or architectural design.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Dialux/Relux, Adobe Creative Suite.

Intermediate

• 3-5 years of experience in architectural lighting design.
• Strong design portfolio demonstrating concept and technical development.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux/Relux, InDesign/Photoshop.
• Ability to work autonomously and in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Senior

• 6+ years of lighting design experience, ideally with high-profile architectural projects.
• Excellent project leadership, technical, and client management skills.
• Advanced knowledge of lighting systems, controls, and standards.
• Proven ability to mentor junior staff and contribute to product innovation.
