Responsibilities:
Design and develop heavy-duty equipment systems, including bespoke load carriers and associated machinery. Create detailed technical drawings for complex mechanical systems, focusing on chassis, suspension, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Perform structural design for fabrication and welding, with a focus on sheet metal, jigs, fixtures, and custom-built components. Conduct stress analysis and structural calculations to ensure the safety and stability of the designs, using tools like Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Independently manage projects, from initial concept through to production, including working directly with the production team to resolve issues and ensure timely delivery.Requirements:
5-10 years of experience in designing mechanical systems for heavy equipment, special purpose machinery, or industrial vehicles. HNC (minimum) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with preference given to candidates with a degree. Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software (preferably SolidWorks), with a focus on mechanical and structural design. Experience designing for welding and fabrication processes.
