Salary: £40,000+

Location – Near Chesterfield (site based)

Hours – 8.30am-5pm (Mon-Thurs), 8am-3pm (Friday).

Environment – 85% office, 15% workshop.

Job Summary:

Our client has a strong reputation within the vehicle conversion sector, with over 30 years of experience manufacturing bespoke vehicle solutions. Alongside this they have recently embarked on an exciting new project.

You will be working in a fast-paced environment alongside a fun and lively team.

Working as a design engineer our client offers the satisfying opportunity to work across all aspects of the business, taking a range of bespoke and R&D projects from conception to completion and designing standardised builds.

Day to Day:

* Working with customers and the sales team to identify the correct solution.

* Feasibility checking build specifications and quotes.

* Creating renders and drawings for customer signoff.

* Creating and maintaining BoM’s for the product range.

* Developing and maintaining build manuals for the core products.

* Working with the workshop staff to develop prototype and bespoke vehicles.

* Managing the engineering change system to record any design changes.

* Creating 3D models and assemblies within SolidWorks.

* Providing fullbuild drawing packs to the workshop staff.

* Working with the workshop staff to maximise efficiency.

Must Haves:

* Knowledge of SolidWorks 3D modelling and 2D drawing.

* 3 years experience within an engineering environment or similar.

* Microsoft Excel knowledge.

* Material knowledge (Aluminium, Stainless Steel and Mild Steel).

* Ability to work effectively within a team to bring multiple projects to completion.

Nice to Have:

* Sheet metal fabrication experience.

* Experience within vehicle body design.

* Clean UK driving license.

* SAGE software knowledge.

* Wider Microsoft Office proficiency.

* Solidworks Visualize knowledge.
