We're looking for a talented Design Engineer to join an established Aftertreatment Engineering team, working on exciting engineering projects across off-highway applications. You'll play a key role in developing innovative engineering solutions for new product introductions (NPI), as well as improving existing engine products and platforms.
This is an opportunity to work on complex technical challenges, collaborate with global engineering teams and suppliers, and contribute to the development of reliable, high-performance engine systems.
What You'll Be Doing
Design and develop aftertreatment and emissions modules, including complex mounting systems and DEF mixing units.
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects and updates to existing engine platforms.
Resolve technical issues arising from manufacturing, quality and field operations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Work closely with suppliers to develop effective, high-quality and cost-conscious engineering solutions.
Lead Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) activities, identify technical risks and develop validation plans.
Produce technical reports, engineering drawings and functional requirement documentation.
Support component and system-level validation and verification activities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders and global manufacturing sites to deliver engineering projects successfully.
What We're Looking For
Experience in mechanical design and development of internal combustion engine components and systems.
Knowledge of aftertreatment technology, exhaust systems or emissions modules.
Experience working within off-highway diesel engine development or a similar engineering environment.
Knowledge of 3D modelling software, ideally Creo, and Teamcenter data management software.
Experience producing technical specifications and engineering drawings.
Understanding of manufacturing processes, including metal fabrication, moulded components, GD&T and engineering standards.
Experience with DFMEA, component validation, verification and root cause analysis.
Familiarity with APQP tools and working with external suppliers.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, planning and communication skills.
An HNC or technical degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering would be beneficial, although relevant practical experience and a strong technical background are equally valued.
