Permanent design manager required in Manchester

randstad are recruiting a design manager for one of our national construction clients working on department for education projects in the north-west. They have a strong reputation for delivering high quality commercial, Education & residential buildings in the UK and are looking for a design manager it work out of their busy Manchester office. With a good pipeline of work over the next few years in the north-west it is imperative they bring an additional head in before August.

The Role

• To manage the design process for new build schools with a value of up to £40 million from concept to completion, ensuring design work meets the required standard, on budget and delivered on time.
• Manage the design process, liaising with architects, engineers and other stakeholders within the business.
• Review and approve design proposals, drawings and specs.
• Ensuring compliance with build codes, the DFE framework, and safety standards

Skills and Experience

Experience as a design manager working on projects in the department for education framework

Will have previously worked on projects valued at at lease £15 million

keen eye for detail, Provide quick and effective solutions along with being a good communicator

A strong knowledge of BIM, Building regs and planning requirements
