Salary range: £37,000 - £45,000+

The Role

The Design Manager will take full ownership of the design lifecycle - from concept through to technical delivery. This includes both standard and bespoke product solutions, with a strong focus on quality, innovation, and efficiency.

Working closely with CAD designers, technical estimators, and project managers, the role offers the opportunity to shape the future of the product range and help drive forward-thinking solutions in real-world environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the design process across a range of architectural products
• Oversee technical drawings, CAD models, and supporting documentation
• Ensure all outputs are compliant, practical, and commercially viable
• Lead, mentor, and develop the internal design team
• Collaborate with internal departments to align design with operational and commercial priorities
• Liaise with external suppliers and manufacturers to ensure feasibility and production readiness
• Contribute to product development and continuous improvement initiatives

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience in a senior design or design management role within construction, manufacturing, or architectural products
• Strong technical ability with proficiency in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
• Solid understanding of materials and production processes, particularly steel, aluminium, and timber
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• A commercially aware mindset with strong attention to detail
• A proactive, problem-solving attitude and a passion for delivering high-quality, innovative designs
