THE OPPORTUNITY

CPXR is recruiting for a Design Manager to join a successful main contractor based in Paddock Wood.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in commercial projects who is looking for progression.

The role will involve coordinating architects, engineers, specialist subcontractors and suppliers to resolve clashes and interfaces...

THE ROLE

• Challenging the design to make sure it can be constructed efficiently, safely and economically.
• Ensuring design information, approvals, samples, specifications and technical submissions are delivered when needed to avoid delaying construction.
• Identifying design risks and ensuring they are properly addressed, including compliance with CDM and Building Regulations requirements.
• Managing design changes and understanding their implications for cost, programme, quality and construction
• Making sure the completed design meets the employer's requirements, statutory requirements and relevant standards.
• Responding to RFIs, technical queries and site issues and ensuring the latest approved information reaches the site team.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Experience as a Design Manager
• Background in commerical projects
• Experience of Design Management
• Strong communication skills.
• Degree or HNC/HND in a construction/design discipline (or similar)
