Location: Redruth, Cornwall
Salary: £45,000–£55,000 per annum
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are looking for a Design Manager to join an established engineering and manufacturing business in Cornwall.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Design Manager or experienced Design Engineer to take responsibility for an established CAD design team, overseeing the design and development of bespoke engineered products from initial concept through to manufacture.

The successful candidate will have strong 3D CAD experience, alongside a background in mechanical engineering, fabrication or bespoke manufacturing.

The Role:

* Managing and supporting an experienced team of CAD Designers and Design Engineers

* Overseeing design projects from initial concept through to manufacture

* Producing and reviewing detailed 3D models, technical drawings and manufacturing documentation

* Working closely with production and project management teams

* Ensuring designs are practical, cost-effective and suitable for manufacture

* Managing design workloads, project deadlines and technical priorities

* Supporting continuous improvement across the design department

Requirements:

* Strong experience 3D CAD (Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo, NX etc.)

* Background in mechanical design, fabrication or bespoke manufacturing

* Previous experience leading or managing a design team

* Good understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacture

* Ability to interpret and review detailed engineering drawings

* Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
