Salary £55,000 - £70,000 + Package (Car Allowance, Bonus, Pension, Etc.)

The Opportunity

An established Tier 1 main contractor is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join their NorthWest regional team. With a strong pipeline of secured work across the Manchester area, you will play a key role in delivering projects from residential, commercial, and public sector frameworks.

This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects from pre-construction through to completion, within a business known for quality delivery, stability, and long-term career development.

The Role

You will take responsibility for managing the design process across projects of varying scale, ensuring effective coordination between consultants, clients, and delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead the design process from tender through to project completion

* Manage consultants and design teams effectively

* Ensure all design information is delivered on time and to a high standard

* Identify and mitigate risks within the design process

* Liaise with stakeholders including clients, subcontractors, and site teams

* Contribute to value engineering and buildability reviews

What We’re Looking For

* Proven experience in a Design Manager or similar role within a contractor, subcontractor, or consultancy environment

* Background in any sector (residential, commercial, healthcare, education, etc.)

* Strong technical understanding with the ability to manage and resolve complex design issues

* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

* Proactive and solutions-focused approach

* Working towards or holding a professional accreditation (CIAT, RIBA, CIOB) is desirable
