This full-time, permanent position is open to both Early Career Teachers and experienced professionals who are passionate about design, systems, and practical learning.

You’ll teach across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging lessons that promote technical skills, problem-solving, and creativity. Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality DT lessons with a strong focus on practical skills.
• Teach a range of design disciplines including materials, systems, and graphics.
• Support student progress with engaging, inclusive lesson planning.
• Promote safe and effective use of tools, machinery, and workshop spaces.
• Contribute to curriculum planning and extra-curricular design projects.
• Foster a classroom culture that encourages creativity and independence.
• Participate in school life, including events, clubs, and department collaboration.

Qualifications and Experience:

• QTS and a degree in Design and Technology or related subject (essential).
• Experience in a secondary school setting (not essential).
• Strong practical skills and a hands-on teaching style.
• Ability to inspire curiosity, problem-solving, and innovation.
• Strong behaviour management and workshop safety knowledge.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil well-being.
• A positive, team-oriented attitude and love for creative learning.
