Design Technology Teacher Cambridge

A forward-thinking and high-achieving secondary school in Cambridge is seeking a creative and skilled Design Technology Teacher to join their successful department. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity starting ASAP, suitable for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are passionate about practical learning and innovation.

About the Role

The successful candidate will teach Design Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of KS5 depending on experience and specialism (Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, or Graphics). You will be responsible for delivering engaging and hands-on lessons that develop students’ technical knowledge, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

The role involves planning and preparing practical sessions, ensuring health and safety compliance in workshop environments, assessing student progress, and contributing to curriculum development. You will also have opportunities to support extracurricular clubs, competitions, and STEM initiatives that extend learning beyond the classroom.

Experience and Qualifications

• Degree in Design Technology or a related field
• QTS or PGCE
• Experience teaching secondary DT (ECTs welcome)
• Strong classroom and workshop management skills
• Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning
