About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to inspire the next generation of designers and makers within a supportive and nurturing environment. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and stimulating Design Technology lessons, fostering a love of the subject and equipping students with valuable skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  Curriculum Delivery:
  
  
  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging and stimulating Design Technology lessons across the curriculum, catering to Key Stage 3 (Years 7-8) and potentially Key Stage 4 (Years 9-11) in line with the National Curriculum.
  
  
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students develop their design and practical skills effectively (e.g., project management, materials exploration, computer-aided design [CAD] if applicable).
  
  
  • Foster creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills in students throughout the design process.
  
  
  • Effectively prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations (if applicable).

  Safe Learning Environment:
  • Maintain a safe and well-organized workshop environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.

  Student Progress:
  
  
  • Track and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to ensure students achieve their academic goals.

  • Contribute to and potentially lead enrichment activities related to Design Technology (e.g., design clubs, workshops, competitions).

The Ideal Candidate:

• A qualified Design Technology Teacher with a minimum of 2 years' successful teaching experience.


• A strong passion for Design Technology and a demonstrable track record of raising student achievement.


• Excellent subject knowledge and the ability to keep up-to-date with current design trends and technologies.


• Strong pedagogical skills and the ability to deliver engaging and practical lessons.


• A commitment to high standards and creating a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.


• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
