We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, and committed Design & Technology Teacher to join the successful Technology faculty at a high-achieving secondary school/academy in the London Borough of Sutton.

This is a Full-Time, Permanent Position starting in January 2026 (or sooner).

• Teach DT across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 (GCSE/A-Level/Vocational)

The successful applicant will be an inspirational and highly effective DT specialist dedicated to delivering engaging and rigorous practical and theoretical lessons. This is an excellent opportunity to teach within a well-resourced department, fostering students' problem-solving skills and creative application across different material areas (e.g., Resistant Materials, Graphics, Product Design).

This is a dedicated classroom teacher role within a supportive department. The school is committed to continuous staff development, offering excellent mentoring and CPD for all staff and pathways for those who aspire to take on future leadership responsibilities (TLR).

We Are Looking For:

• A qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).


• A proven track record as an excellent Design & Technology Teacher, with the ability to confidently teach GCSE and A-Level DT (or BTEC equivalent).


• Strong subject knowledge and practical skills across multiple DT disciplines (please specify your core specialism).


• A genuine passion for the subject and the ability to inspire high levels of engagement, safety, and technical proficiency across all students.


• A collaborative mindset, committed to contributing positively to departmental planning and managing workshop resources effectively.

Salary and Benefits

• Main Pay Scale/Upper Pay Scale (MPS/UPS) for Outer London Teachers (currently £37,870 - £56,154 for 2025/2026).
