Desk-Aligned Engineer (Commodities)- Market-Leading Global Hedge Fund

Now looking to expand their Commodities team with a desk-aligned engineer, this role offers the opportunity to:

• Partner with trading, research and data teams to develop core analytics and deliver key initiatives
• Understand business challenges and drive technical/quantitative solutions
• Work with large datasets and build data analytics trading tools
• Integrate data and insights into models and investment processes

You'll be expected to be a self-starter who demonstrates a strong sense of ownership, execution and the ability to work in a hands-on collaborative environment.

Requirements:

• Excellent technology skills. Fluent in Python or comparable language. Experience using multiple programming languages is desirable.
• Experience with complex, multi-site, systems architectures
• Strong Unix operating system knowledge and exposure to a variety of database technologies
• Exposure to commodity markets would be advantageous
• Outstanding academic record: BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science/Physics; or equivalent experience
