Are you passionate about technology and ready to take on a new challenge? Our client is seeking a skilled Desktop Support Engineer to join their End-of-Life (EOL) Workstation Coordination team. This is an exciting temporary opportunity based in Chester Business Park, Chester, for a duration of 12 months. About the Role:
As a Desktop Support Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting the EOL Workstation Coordination team by assisting with various hardware and software coordination activities. Your contributions will help track, organise, and support remediation efforts across the project. You'll be involved in different stages of the EOL process and provide general support to Project Managers.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate activities related to workstation application lifecycle management, including upgrades, remediation, and support. Engage with engineering teams to understand technical constraints and remediation approaches. Document processes, track tasks, manage blockers, and keep everything organised. Own small workstreams such as application remediation and compatibility assessments. Contribute ideas for process improvements, including automation opportunities.
Who You Are:
You have a solid understanding of EOL/EOS concepts, inventory management, and application compatibility within Windows workstation environments. You are comfortable using PowerShell for application discovery and troubleshooting, with the ability to interpret script outputs and logs. You have experience with endpoint management processes and are familiar with tools like SCCM and Microsoft Intune. You thrive in a project-focused environment, maintaining action trackers, RAID logs, and status reports effectively.
