Despatch / Hampers Administrator

Great opportunity to work as a Despatch Administrator for one of the largest providers of fresh flowers to major supermarket chains throughout the UK.

Staffline is recruiting a Despatch Administrator to work in Alconbury.

Transport is provided from Peterborough at 4 different locations for £8 per day to take you there and back.

The rate of pay is:
- Days £13.61 per hour
- Nights £17.01 per hour

Overtime is avaliable and is paid at:
- Days £17.01 per hour
- Nights £21.27 per hour

This is a full-time role working 4 on 4 off, and the hours of work are:
- 7am to 7pm
- 7pm to 7am

Your Time at Work

As a Despatch Administrator you will be responsible for:

- Managing transport bookings via Excel and online booking portals, ensuring shipments are booked accurately and on time.
- Processing and maintaining all despatch paperwork, ensuring documentation is completed accurately and filed correctly.
- Acting as the first point of contact for drivers, hauliers, customers, and internal departments, responding to queries via phone, email, and face-to-face communication.
- Communicating transport delays or issues to commercial, logistics, and supply chain teams to ensure timely resolution.
- Supporting the Despatch team and Section Leader to achieve operational targets and ensure customer orders are dispatched efficiently.
- Assisting with continuous improvement activities to enhance administrative processes and operational efficiency.

What we're looking for:

- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse and despatch environment.
- Comfortable working in controlled temperature areas when required.
- Able to move around the warehouse and despatch areas to support operational activities and communicate with colleagues, drivers, and hauliers.
- Ability to work a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern, averaging 40.25 hours per week.
- Strong administration skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and confidence using web-based systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable, organised, and accountable, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Team player who collaborates effectively and supports colleagues to achieve operational goals.

Essential:
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and online systems for processing information and bookings.
- Experience communicating with a range of stakeholders, including customers, drivers, suppliers, or internal teams.
- Experience within transport administration, despatch, warehousing, or logistics would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), transport systems, or RFID processes would be beneficial but is not essential.
