Solution Development Manager (Supply Chain/ Logistics / Pre-Sales)

Location: Birmingham (Office-Based)

Salary: £55,000 + Twice-Yearly Bonus + Benefits

REED Technology are working with a client based in Birmingham who require an experienced supply chain professional with a passion for technology, innovation, and creating tailored solutions for customers? We are supporting a leading logistics and supply chain business seeking a Solution Development Manager /Supply Chain Solutions Manager to join their Customer Solutions team in Birmingham.

In this role, you’ll combine your supply chain expertise with cutting-edge technology to design, present, and implement bespoke solutions for both new and existing clients. This is a strategic, consultative role where you’ll help shape customer value propositions, support business growth, and drive digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities;

• Collaborate with Customer Solutions, Account Management, and Commercial teams to design and present compelling supply chain solutions for key clients and prospects.
• Actively support strategic bid processes (RFIs, RFQs, RFPs), ensuring that solution designs meet customer requirements and position the business as a value-driven partner.
• Lead the project management of solution development, from initial qualification to value proposition delivery and execution.
• Conduct demonstrations of the company’s supply chain technology products, gathering feedback to support continuous improvement.
• Identify new feature requirements and support the evolution of digital supply chain tools and platforms.
• Use customer data and analytics to uncover opportunities for continuous improvement, working closely with internal teams to drive operational excellence.

Skills and experience;

• Proven experience in supply chain, logistics, or freight forwarding, ideally in a solutions, consultancy, project management, or implementation role.
• Strong communication and influencing skills, comfortable engaging with clients at all levels including senior leadership.
• Experience managing or supporting strategic sales processes (RFx, solution design, value proposition development).
• Solid project management or change management experience with the ability to deliver results.
• A genuine interest in technology, digital transformation, and supply chain innovation.
• Self-starter with a commercial mindset, analytical approach, and the ability to build trusted relationships.
• Experience with supply chain technology platforms (TMS, WMS, ERP, analytics tools).
• Consultative or pre-sales experience within logistics, software, or supply chain environments.
• A degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related disciplines.
