Job Description - DevOps Engineer

About the Role
Nigel Wright have been appointed to support Neptune North with multiple hires into their Newcastle office. Neptune North are a Joint Venture between Oliver Wyman and Rokos Capital Management specialising in providing premium technology consulting services.

Key Responsibilities
What Makes a Great Candidate

Proficiency in PowerShell or other scripting languages
Experience with C#, Java, or Python, or the ability to code
Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools like Ansible, Terraform, or similar
Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes or Docker Swarm)
Familiarity with monitoring tools like ELK, Grafana, or similar
Experience with CI/CD tools like TeamCity
Microsoft SQL Server expertise
Windows and Linux administration experience
Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and team members
Financial Services experience is a plus but not required
A minimum 2.1 degree in Computer Science or a related field, preferably from a leading university

Responsibilities

Automating infrastructure and environments
Managing and maintaining Continuous Integration infrastructure
Developing monitoring and diagnostics tools
Delivering end-user automation solutions

Desirable Skills

Experience with Atlassian tools (Bitbucket, JIRA)
Artifact storage knowledge (Artifactory)
Familiarity with Octopus Deploy
Experience with static analysis tools (e.g., SonarQube)
Control-M experience
Cloud experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
VMware (vSphere) and SAN experience
