The Role:
Parico is seeking a talented DevOps Engineer to work on exciting and dynamic projects who prospers against the challenge of working closely with a small business to solve complex and challenging problems across the Public Sector landscape. You’ll have the freedoms to be truly innovative to roll up your sleeves, get stuck into the detail of systems, and generally do what it takes to achieve incredible technical solutions to our customer’s complex problems.
You will be part of a team developing greenfield services for our clients, using cloud services and on-premise infrastructure while developing Continuous Integration pipelines with different tools and technologies to enable our Software and Infrastructure engineers to rapidly develop, test and push out products to production.
Responsibilities include: Design and implementation of infrastructure to ensure successful delivery of industry leading solutions. Develop tools and services useful in DevOps environments such as performance monitoring, security monitoring, deployment / configuration, continuous integration, server builds and cloud resource creation scripts Introducing methods to test, observe and alert on applications and services. Working with the development team and other areas of the business to establish where DevOps practices can save time and money. Build and maintain the overall security integrity of both cloud and internal environments. Demonstrable knowledge of web application security and distributed applications/micro-services. Working in a close-knit Agile team and providing regular updates to the Scrum Master and Product Owner. Ability to produce clear and concise technical documentation.
Our Ideal Candidate: Experience and track record of building and managing customer environments. Experience with Docker and containerisation. Kubernetes experience is advantageous. Has good networking knowledge (TCP/IP, Ports, DNS, network troubleshooting) Possesses solid Linux command line skills (administration, package management, bash scripting). RedHat preferred. Has worked with CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins or GitHub actions. Administration and building pipelines. Monitoring and logging experience (ELK/Grafana) Experience working with at least one cloud platform – building, deploying and configuring services. On-premise experience such as VMware is preferred but is not essential. Experience of DevOps environments, Scripting and automation (Infrastructure as Code), with skills in Terraform and Ansible. You should have the ability to work under tight deadlines and be able to prioritise under pressure as you will be working on multiple projects at the same time. Excellent problem-solving skills and comfortable taking on new challenges. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Hold a UK Driving Licence and have a willingness to travel to client sites. Ability to hold a minimum of UK MoD Security Clearance (SC).
