📅 Contract Position

We are currently recruiting for an experienced DFG Technical Officer to support a busy Disabled Facilities Grant and Adaptations Service within a well-established local authority in the West Midlands.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technical professional with a strong background in housing adaptations and DFG delivery to manage projects that make a genuine difference to residents' lives.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Produce adaptation designs and specifications using CAD, including:

* Level Access Showers

* Access Ramps

* Door Widening Schemes

* Complex Major Adaptations

✅ Manage projects from initial survey through to practical completion.

✅ Liaise with Occupational Therapists, residents, contractors, and key stakeholders.

✅ Undertake contract administration, project monitoring, and quality assurance.

✅ Support procurement, tendering exercises, and contractor management activities.

✅ Manage a high-volume caseload whilst maintaining compliance, quality, and customer satisfaction.

✅ Prepare cost estimates and work with Schedules of Rates to ensure value for money.

Essential Requirements

✔ Previous experience delivering Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) and housing adaptations.

✔ Strong understanding of adaptation design and project delivery.

✔ Experience using CAD software.

✔ Ability to manage multiple live projects simultaneously.

✔ Knowledge of adaptation costing and Schedules of Rates.

✔ Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

✔ Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
