The client is currently looking for a highly skilled and motivated Diagnostic Technician (VAG accredited) to join their busy Aftersales team based in Epsom, Surrey.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
As a Diagnostic Technician, you will expertly undertake diagnostics, repairs, and servicing to ensure all vehicles are completed to manufacturer standards and customer expectations. You will act as a technical specialist within the team, assisting and mentoring other technicians, liaising with manufacturer technical departments, and consistently maintaining the highest quality of work.
KEY RESULTS/ACCOUNTABILITIES EXPECTED FROM THE ROLE:
Accurately complete the diagnosis, repair, and servicing of a variety of motor vehicles in line with manufacturer and dealership standards.
Identify complex faults and carry out efficient repairs, ensuring work is completed within agreed timescales.
Provide technical assistance and support to other technicians, promoting continuous learning and development within the team.
Liaise with manufacturer technical teams to resolve complex technical issues and escalate where necessary.
Monitor manufacturer bulletins via the DCS system and communicate relevant updates to the team.
Support the promotion of the dealership’s Aftersales services to drive repeat business and referrals.
Undertake quality control checks on repairs and services completed by other technicians.
Complete all job cards with clear and detailed notes, including diagnosis, repair process, and confirmation of fault resolution.
Ensure all time clocking procedures are followed accurately for attendance and job tracking.
Obtain authorisation for any additional work required before commencement.
Maintain clean and organised working bays and communal areas.
Accurately complete Vehicle Health Check and Service Checklist forms, ensuring they are properly signed.
Consistently wear company-supplied uniform and safety footwear.
Comply with all Health & Safety regulations and report any defective equipment or safety concerns immediately.
Carry out any additional tasks that fall within your skillset and role requirements.
PERFORMANCE MEASURES:
Achieve overall efficiency rates between 75% and 115% (hours sold vs hours attended).
Ensure all jobs are completed accurately and right the first time to enhance customer satisfaction and minimise rework.
Maintain high-quality standards and consistent customer satisfaction scores.
