We require a Field Service Engineer/Diesel service Engineer to work for an engineering company around the Manchester/Liverpool/Chester area, the individuals will receive full training on the company product, but must have exposure to Diesel Engines.

This will be a home based position with travel across the areas mentioned above to various rail depots and is based on Nights (Apply online only))

The role has a basic salary of circa £50,600 pa (with opportunity to earn more) and the role includes a Van and fuel paid as well as accommodation if required to stay away on jobs and has an additional paid Weekend on call element.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carry out appropriate maintenance & modification programmes on Company Diesel products at customer sites. The scope of this activity includes initial preparation of work (tools, parts etc.), day to day liaison with customers and keeping accurate, concise records of work completed.

• Ensure that all materials/parts, drawings, tooling, fixtures, test equipment are fit for purpose & available prior to commencement of a job

• Flexibility in traveling and staying out away from home.

• Identify revenue opportunities and report to your Supervisor.

• First line dealing with complaints made by customers, stepping in and supporting as necessary. Escalating at the earliest opportunity as required.

• Maintain positive working relationships with current and potential customers in such a manner as to maintain the reputation of the company as a world class supplier of railway equipment and systems.

ROLE CRITERIA

• Mechanical and/or Electrical Experience/Qualifications

• Some Electrical Experience (Desirable)

• Must have Diesel product Experience (Engines etc)

• Aptitude for good Fault finding skills

• Ability to compile technical Reports

• Ability to drive and willingness to stay away from home on occasion

• Valid Drivers Licence
