About the Opportunity We are recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation within the energy sector for a Digital Engineer to support a growing portfolio of projects. This role forms part of a wider programme focused on advanced and small modular reactor development, alongside other key nuclear lifecycle activities including new build, generation, life extension, licensing, and defuelling. This opportunity is well suited to individuals with a background in design engineering or digital delivery, particularly those with strong experience in 3D modelling and AVEVA E3D, who are looking to contribute to technically complex projects within a highly regulated environment.
What You’ll Be Doing In this role, you will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure digital models are produced, maintained, and coordinated effectively throughout the project lifecycle. You will play a key role in ensuring that digital outputs are accurate, aligned to project requirements, and support efficient delivery across engineering and construction activities. Your work will cover model development through to coordination, validation, and final delivery, helping to ensure consistency across all project interfaces.
Key Responsibilities Will Include
Producing and maintaining detailed 3D models using AVEVA E3D Supporting coordinated design activities across multiple engineering disciplines including mechanical, piping, structural, civil, electrical, instrumentation, HVAC, and layout Generating and reviewing drawings, layouts, material take-offs, reports, and associated engineering documentation Ensuring all model data meets required quality standards and complies with project information management procedures Identifying and resolving clashes within the model and supporting coordinated design reviews Interpreting engineering documentation including P&IDs, technical specifications, and supplier information Managing model-related data such as tagging, catalogues, and associated metadata Ensuring compliance with BIM processes, standards, and project governance requirements Supporting the use of digital platforms such as common data environments and reporting systems Assisting with project close-out activities, including digital handover and as-built model updates Working with project stakeholders to address technical queries and model-related challenges Providing support and guidance on digital engineering approaches and AVEVA E3D usage
What You Could Have
Hands-on experience using AVEVA E3D within a design or engineering environment Understanding of how multi-discipline engineering projects are delivered Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and design information Experience producing engineering outputs directly from 3D models Familiarity with model coordination and review processes
Desirable:
Experience with AVEVA system configuration, scripting (PML), or automation Understanding of BIM frameworks such as ISO 19650 Exposure to tools including Navisworks, AutoCAD, Revit, or MicroStation Experience working with point cloud data or digital project close-out processes Background within nuclear, energy, or other heavy engineering sectors
Location Multiple UK office locations including Newcastle, Warrington, Gloucester, Bristol, and Knutsford, with flexible working arrangements available
