Key Objectives and Outcomes

To manage and deliver a digital inclusion offering for a minimum of 1000 citizens that predominantly use warm welcome spaces across Birmingham. The digital offering will enable all citizens whether or not they are in employment, to gain greater confidence in the use of digital tools and capabilities that enables them to become "pre-employment ready". This will involve ensuring citizens are equipped with sufficient skills and capabilities that are currently stopping abilities from using the internet and other digital applications to further their life chances.

These skills will include media literacy training to enable citizens to understand and this includes. The approach recognises that those with no access to the internet or limited skills are less likely to be in paid employment or will be on a lower income. (ii) Creating Digital Champions- the aim is to establish digital champions at each Warm Welcome Space and digital hubs (this includes Libraries, family hubs and other multi-agency hubs). The digital champions will provide a train the trainer facilities. Their focus will be to identify and support citizens who need basic digital skills, provide signposting and provide the administrative support to digital hubs, helping citizens to access/apply for connectivity, devices and/or direct them to training opportunities.

(iii) Uplift in digital skills capability; This targets 1000 citizens (starters and novices as defined by the Digital Blueprint)
that use Warm Welcome Spaces and other multi -agency hubs including libraries to access "certificated" basic essential digital skills in order to build confidence in the use of digital applications and enable them to become pre-employment ready, this improving their life chances and increasing their opportunities to gain employment or access further skills training.
