The Opportunity

We are looking for a Direct Tax Compliance & Reporting Manager to join our growing Tax team in Oxford.

Reporting to the Tax Director, this is a hands-on and varied role within a fast-growing, listed international business. You will take ownership of corporation tax compliance and reporting activities across the Group, while also supporting transfer pricing, tax projects and process improvement initiatives.

This position would suit a qualified accountant or tax professional with a strong grounding in tax accounting and compliance, ideally gained within a multinational or in-house environment. Alongside technical expertise, you'll bring strong organisational skills, commercial awareness and a proactive approach to driving continuous improvement.

Hybrid working available with a minimum expectation of three days per week in our Oxford office.

What You'll Be Doing

• Manage outsourced corporation tax compliance processes across the UK and international group entities, ensuring filings and payments are accurate and submitted on time.
• Coordinate with finance teams, external advisers and stakeholders to gather information and support tax compliance requirements.
• Lead tax reporting activities for interim and year-end group reporting cycles, including preparation of tax disclosures and supporting documentation.
• Manage the Group's transfer pricing compliance, including master and local file requirements and transfer pricing calculations.
• Identify and implement process improvements, leveraging technology and automation where appropriate.
• Support monthly tax reporting activities, including reconciliations, journals and tax-related presentations.
• Oversee tax administration activities, including adviser management, budgets, accruals, purchase orders and tax authority correspondence.
• Prepare and manage tax-related forms and returns, such as certificates of residence and withholding tax filings.
• Contribute to a variety of tax projects covering areas such as global expansion, patent box, transfer pricing and tax efficiency initiatives.
• Support tax enquiries and ensure the business remains up to date with relevant tax legislation and developments.

About You

We're looking for someone who can combine strong technical expertise with a collaborative and solutions-focused mindset.

You will have:

• ACA, ACCA, CA, CTA or equivalent qualification.
• At least 3 years' post-qualified tax experience.
• Strong knowledge of corporation tax compliance and tax accounting.
• A solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Strong organisational and project management skills.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive, improvement-focused approach and a genuine desire to create efficiencies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with Microsoft Office applications.
• A collaborative style with the ability to build relationships across teams.

Desirable Experience

• In-house tax experience.
• Experience working within a listed or multinational organisation.
• Experience with D365 or similar ERP systems.
• An interest in tax technology, automation and process optimisation.
• Experience within, or an interest in, the biotechnology or life sciences sector.
