We're currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Director, Global Special Credit Unit.
You'll provide executive support to the Head of Global Special Credit Unit, ensuring we meet the challenges originating from any deteriorating economic conditions across economies worldwide.

In this role you'll:
- Manage the Global Lessons Learned regime for the benefit of multiple stakeholders by delivering informative presentations that both sponsor and recommend change
- Establish and lead a portfolio management monitoring and oversight capability, aimed at coordinating a pro-active debt sales initiative
- Oversee Special Credit Unit resourcing needs and capacity globally by, engaging with and, challenging the assessments of Regional Special Credit Unit Leadership Teams where appropriate
- Facilitate/chair Global Special Credit Unit Committees and Forums and manage the Global Special Credit Unit Governance and Oversight regime
- Analyse and review Global Special Credit Units performance data and escalate recommendations to the Head of Global Special Credit Unit and Senior Director, Global Special Credit Unit
- Act as lead coordinator for transformation programmes within Special Credit Unit or those that require Special Credit Unit engagement
- Operate as the primary responder to Special Credit Unit subject matter expert enquiries arising from Special Credit Unit Regions and other HSBC Group stakeholders
- Prepare policy papers and reports when required
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Relevant credit risk and analytical skills with significant focus on Reputational Risk and Conduct, and Integrity
- Clear, strategic, intelligent, and tactical thinking to resolve problems, able to exercise judgement
- Proven ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Able to negotiate effectively, together with an aptitude to persuade and influence others
- A practical knowledge of insolvency processes and procedures is preferable but not required
- Able to assimilate information rapidly and identify key risks
- High level of financial literacy with the ability to interrogate and challenge financial information
