You will lead a complex and high-impact portfolio encompassing statutory adult social care, safeguarding, transformation, prevention and health system integration, with a strong focus on independence, wellbeing and resilience.
Working as part of the Corporate Management Team, you will play a key role in shaping the organisation's wider strategic direction and working collaboratively with elected members, NHS partners and the voluntary and community sector.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic and professional leadership across Adult Social Care.
* Lead the delivery and continuous improvement of high-quality, person-centred services.
* Provide strong leadership around adult safeguarding and statutory responsibilities.
* Develop and deliver transformational programmes focused on prevention, early intervention and community-based support.
* Strengthen integration and partnership working with NHS and health system colleagues.
* Work collaboratively across the council and wider system to improve outcomes for residents.
* Provide trusted advice and strategic leadership to elected members and senior colleagues.
* Lead significant change while maintaining a strong focus on financial sustainability and service quality.
* Champion innovation, technology and new models of care and support.
* Contribute to corporate and regional policy development and strategic thinking.
About You
You will be an accomplished senior leader with the credibility, judgement and presence to operate effectively within a complex local government environment.
We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:
* Significant senior leadership experience within adult social care, social care or a closely related public-sector environment.
* Strong understanding of statutory adult social care responsibilities and safeguarding.
* Experience leading transformation and service improvement at scale.
* The ability to build effective relationships across local government, NHS, voluntary and community sector partners.
* Strong commercial and financial awareness.
* Experience influencing elected members and operating at corporate leadership level.
* Excellent strategic, political and stakeholder management skills.
* A compassionate and collaborative leadership style.
* The ability to navigate complexity and deliver sustainable change.
Applications are welcomed from both established Directors and ambitious senior leaders who are ready to take the next step in their career.
