Job Description

Macdonald & Company is delighted to be working with the Priors Court Foundation in the search for a Director of Estates & Facilities. Prior's Court Foundation is a registered charity which provides education and residential care for autistic young people with complex needs.

The Role

The Director of Estates & Facilities is a strategically important appointment for Priors Court, where as a member of the Executive Team, you will have responsibility for devising, maintaining and delivering a five-year estates plan, to ensure high quality buildings and grounds which meet the needs of the young people and the organisation. In addition, you will also:

·Lead budgeting for the departments and be responsible for delivery of the budgets
·Be responsible for delivery of maintenance services relating to facilities and estates, including a ticketed helpdesk service, and allocation of skilled trades
·Be responsible for aspects of the organisation’s procurement relevant to the Estates and Facilities functions.
·Own and manage the capital expenditure budget
·Be responsible for estates asset lifecycle management

The Person

A proven facilities/estates professional in a lead role, ideally within a similar environment, although not essential.

Your likely background:

Senior level management experience in Estates and Facilities services
Successful delivery of capital build projects
Experience in creating successful long-term estates plans, and high quality reactive estates services
Knowledge of the regulatory environment for estates and facilities
IWFM Level 5 and/or equivalent professional qualification at an appropriate level and/or post-graduate qualification, in a relevant estates/facilities discipline
Ability to develop a good rapport with autistic young people with complex needs
Ability to think strategically
Good communication skills (written and oral)
Effective decision making
