Position Summary

This is an exceptional opportunity to lead the people agenda at one of London’s most distinctive and iconic hotels.

As Director of Human Resources at London Marriott Hotel County Hall, you will be a key member of the hotel’s Executive Committee, partnering directly with the General Manager and leadership team to shape a workplace where our associates can thrive and our business can perform at its best.

This is much more than an HR operational role. You will be a strategic business partner, culture champion, talent leader and trusted coach, translating the priorities of the hotel into a compelling people strategy.

As a member of the Executive Committee, you will bring the people perspective to our most important business decisions. You will use insight, data and your understanding of the operation to challenge thinking, influence decisions and ensure our people strategy supports the continued success of the hotel.

What You Will Do

Lead our people strategy

• Partner with the General Manager and Executive Committee to translate business priorities into an effective property Human Resources strategy.


• Own the development and execution of the hotel's Human Resources Business Plan.


• Act as a trusted adviser and coach to senior leaders and managers across the property.


• Lead key people initiatives, ensuring they are embedded effectively and deliver meaningful business results.


• Champion associate engagement and lead the hotel's response to engagement survey insights and priorities.


• Use people data and insight, including retention, vacancies, engagement, succession and development, to inform Executive Committee discussions and decision-making.


• Represent the people agenda within owner and senior leadership discussions as required.


• Act as a key change leader for initiatives with a significant impact on our associates.

Build our talent and leadership pipeline

• Lead succession and workforce planning across the property.


• Build a strong and diverse pipeline of talent for future leadership opportunities.


• Coordinate the Human Capital Review process and ensure meaningful follow-up and development actions.


• Partner with leaders to identify high-potential talent and create opportunities for associates to grow their careers.


• Coach leaders on performance, development and talent conversations.


• Balance internal development and progression with the recruitment of exceptional external talent.

Champion reward and recognition

• Maintain a strong understanding of the internal and external employment and compensation landscape.


• Support the development of an effective total compensation strategy.


• Champion the effective use and communication of compensation, benefits, recognition and incentive programmes.


• Review internal equity and identify areas requiring action.


• Develop creative approaches to recognition that reinforce the culture and priorities of the hotel.

Create an exceptional associate experience

• Be a visible and trusted HR leader for associates throughout the hotel.


• Champion positive employee relations and a culture built on respect, inclusion and belonging.


• Provide expert guidance on employee relations matters.


• Lead, coach and develop the on-property Human Resources team, ensuring they have the expertise and confidence to provide outstanding support.


• Ensure Marriott HR systems, tools, policies and programmes are used effectively across the property.


• Continually look for opportunities to improve the way we work and the experience we create for associates.

Education and Experience

We are looking for an accomplished HR leader who combines strong HR expertise with commercial thinking, excellent judgement and a genuine passion for people.

You will bring one of the following:

• A 2-year degree from an accredited university in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related discipline, together with at least four years' experience in Human Resources, management operations or a related professional area

OR

• A 4-year bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related discipline, together with at least two years' experience in Human Resources, management operations or a related professional area.

Experience gained within hospitality, luxury, a large operational environment or another people-intensive service business would be particularly valuable.
