Role: Dispatch Operative

Location: Loughborough
Pay: £13.80 per hour
Contract: Initial 6 Month Temporary Contract, with the opportunity to go permanent

Working Hours

You'll work weekly rotating shifts:

Week 1 – Morning Shift

Monday to Friday: 8:00am – 2:15pm

Week 2 – Afternoon Shift

Monday to Thursday: 2:00pm – 10:15pm

Friday: 2:00pm – 7:45pm

We're recruiting an experienced FLT Warehouse & Dispatch Operative to join a pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Loughborough.

You'll be working within a small, friendly warehouse team, supporting the movement of materials into production and ensuring finished products are correctly processed and dispatched.

This is a varied role combining forklift operations, warehouse duties, stock management and computer based administration. You'll be working in a highly regulated environment where safety, accuracy and attention to detail are essential.

Daily duties include:

* Operating a Counterbalance forklift to load, unload and move pallets

* Receiving deliveries of components and manufacturing materials

* Booking goods in and out using computer systems

* Preparing orders for shipment

* Using handheld scanning guns to track stock movements

* Updating stock records and processing transactions using D365

* Preparing dispatch paperwork and liaising with delivery drivers

* Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment

* Following strict GMP, GDP and health and safety procedures

* Overtime opportunities once fully trained

This isn't a forklift only position. You'll need to be comfortable switching between practical warehouse duties and administrative tasks throughout your shift.

You must be comfortable with:

* No mobile phones and no food or drinks in restricted areas

* Strict health and safety procedures

* Wearing the required PPE, including safety footwear, high visibility clothing and hard hats (additional PPE requirements when entering production areas)

* Switching regularly between forklift duties and computer based tasks

This is a very safety conscious environment, with clear procedures in place to protect employees, products and production operations. All required PPE will be provided.

What We're Looking For:

* Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics or dispatch environment

* A valid, externally obtained B1 Counterbalance Forklift Licence

* A valid, externally obtained Reach Forklift Licence advantageous but not essential

* Good computer literacy and confidence using warehouse systems

* Good written and spoken English and basic numeracy skills

* Strong attention to detail, particularly when completing paperwork and stock records

* Reliable, hardworking and committed to following procedures

* Friendly, approachable and happy working within a small team

* Comfortable carrying out both hands on warehouse tasks and computer based administration

Training & Development:

* Full training provided on site systems and procedures

* Forklift refresher training available where required

* Further training and development opportunities during quieter periods

* Opportunity to become a permanent member of the team following the initial contract
