An established independent optical practice in Scotland is looking for a friendly and experienced GOC-registered Dispensing Optician to join its team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a genuinely community-focused practice where patient care comes first. You will have the time and freedom to offer personal advice, build lasting relationships and provide a level of service that is difficult to achieve in a high-volume environment.
You will play an important part in delivering an excellent patient experience, supporting customers throughout their eyewear journey and providing expert dispensing advice.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing professional and personalised dispensing advice
Recommending suitable frames, lenses and lens treatments
Taking accurate measurements and completing adjustments
Supporting patients with collections, repairs and aftercare
Helping patients choose eyewear that suits their lifestyle, prescription and budget
Building strong relationships with patients and the local community
Supporting the wider practice team with the day-to-day running of the business
Maintaining high professional, clinical and customer-service standards
Depending on your experience and interests, there may also be opportunities to contribute to frame buying, staff development, merchandising and the continued growth of the practice.
You will be:
A qualified and GOC-registered Dispensing Optician
Passionate about delivering excellent patient care
Confident discussing frames, lenses and optical products
Friendly, approachable and comfortable building long-term patient relationships
A strong communicator who works well within a close-knit team
Commercially aware without compromising professional standards
Reliable, organised and attentive to detail
Experience within an independent optical practice would be beneficial but is not essential.
