Goodman Masson is currently working with a social housing organisation within the southeast to recruit for an interim Disrepair Surveyor.
Pay - £300 - £350 per day INSIDE IR35
The Role
You'll be responsible for managing complex property cases from inspection through to completion, ensuring works comply with legislation, contractual requirements and organisational standards.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing a caseload of housing disrepair, structural repair and insurance-related works. Carrying out detailed property inspections and diagnosing complex building defects. Preparing technical specifications, schedules of work and cost estimates. Managing repair programmes from instruction through to completion. Undertaking pre and post inspections to monitor quality and contractor performance. Working closely with legal teams on housing disrepair and litigation matters. Liaising with residents, contractors, surveyors and other stakeholders to resolve complex repair issues. Monitoring contractor performance, quality, programme delivery and value for money. Providing technical advice across repairs, voids and wider property maintenance services. Investigating complaints and supporting the resolution of complex customer cases. Ensuring works comply with current housing legislation, health and safety requirements and best practice. Producing technical reports and maintaining accurate records across all cases. About You
We're looking for an experienced surveyor with strong technical knowledge and a passion for delivering excellent customer outcomes.
You'll ideally have:
Experience managing housing disrepair cases within social housing, local authority or residential property environments. Strong knowledge of building construction, building pathology and property maintenance. Experience diagnosing complex building defects and specifying appropriate remedial works. Knowledge of housing legislation, disrepair protocols and building safety requirements. Experience managing contractors, monitoring quality and administering building contracts. Excellent report writing, communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience handling complaints, insurance claims or legal property matters. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. A customer-focused approach with excellent problem-solving abilities. Relevant qualifications in Building Surveying, Construction or a related discipline (or equivalent experience). Professional membership with organisations such as RICS, CIOB or CABE would be advantageous but is not essential.
