Job Description - Divorce & Finances Solicitor

I am working on an opportunity with a well-established and respected regional law firm that is seeking a Family Solicitor with 3+ years’ PQE to join their Family Department. The successful candidate will handle a varied caseload and provide high-quality legal advice and representation to both private and publicly funded clients. This role offers a clear route to career progression, including potential partnership.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a diverse caseload including:
- Divorce and financial remedy
- Private law children matters
- Injunctions (non-molestation and occupation orders)
- Legal Aid and limited Public Law matters (e.g., LAC reviews, conferences)
Deliver timely and practical legal advice to clients in person and over the phone
Maintain accurate and compliant file management using firm systems
Ensure timely billing and cost recovery, including preparation of Legal Aid files
Adhere to all professional and regulatory standards (SRA and firm policies)
Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals
Participate in ongoing training and development
Maintain strict client and case confidentiality

Candidate Requirements

Minimum 3 years’ PQE as a Family Solicitor
Strong working knowledge of family law, both private and publicly funded
Confident handling matters involving divorce, finances, children, and injunctions
Experience with Legal Aid casework is essential
Solid understanding of SRA regulations and confidentiality requirements
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in using legal IT systems and case management tools
Organised, self-motivated, and able to manage competing priorities
A team player with genuine ambition to progress in their legal career
