Due to a significant project win, our client is looking to strengthen the site team with the appointment of a Document Controller on a major civil engineering package near Wakefield This isn't a role where you'll simply be filing drawings. You'll become a key member of the project team, supporting the successful delivery of a complex infrastructure package involving bulk earthworks, drainage, attenuation, foundations, highways, utilities and external works as part of one of Yorkshire's largest industrial developments. It's a long-term project that will keep you challenged and offer genuine career progression within a business that continues to grow year after year.
Working closely with the Project Manager, Engineers and commercial team, you'll take ownership of all project documentation, ensuring information is controlled, issued and maintained accurately throughout the project lifecycle.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing project documentation through SharePoint and the client's Fieldview platform. Maintaining drawing registers, technical documents and revision control. Uploading and managing Health & Safety documentation in line with company and client procedures. Recording and distributing meeting minutes and project communications. Supporting Engineers and the wider site team with document retrieval and information management. Producing project handover documentation and close-out packs. Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to compile comprehensive Operations & Maintenance Manuals. Ensuring documentation is compliant with project quality assurance procedures and contractual requirements. I'm keen to speak with Document Controllers who have experience working within civil engineering, infrastructure or construction projects and enjoy being part of a busy site-based team. You'll ideally have:
Previous Document Control experience within construction or civil engineering. Experience using SharePoint, Fieldview, Viewpoint or similar document management systems. Excellent organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail. A good understanding of QA procedures and construction documentation. Strong communication skills with the confidence to work closely with project teams, clients and subcontractors. The ability to prioritise workloads and keep pace with a live construction project.
