Skilled Careers is seeking a meticulous and proactive Document Controller to join one of our key clients in Kent.
Job Description
The Document Controller will play a key role in the successful delivery of multiple construction projects. We are looking for someone with a proactive mindset and an awareness of modern digital construction practices.
The Document Controller will be responsible for managing and maintaining project information, ensuring the right information is available to the right people at the right time. This includes implementing structured workflows, enforcing naming conventions, supporting design and delivery teams and helping the business uphold its commitment to collaborative working.
You will be working closely with the Project Delivery teams across multiple disciplines, ensuring consistency, transparency, and traceability of project data throughout the lifecycle from tender to handover. This role is critical in supporting the commitment to delivering high-quality, secure and reliable information to clients and the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the gatekeeper for project information, ensuring documentation follows correct naming conventions, metadata application and version control.
Support the implementation and enforcement of the project’s Information Standard and Information Production Methods and Procedures
Administer and configure document workflows, approvals and permissions within software platforms.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely upload, review and publishing of documentation aligned to the Master Information Delivery Plan (MIDP) and Task Information Delivery Plans (TIDPs)
Manage and maintain document registers and transmittals, ensuring auditability and traceability of information exchanges
Coordinate information flows between multiple delivery teams, ensuring alignment with the responsibility matrix and role-specific obligation
Essential Skills and Experience
Proven experience in document control roles within the construction or public sector environment.
Practical experience managing a variety of EDMS.
Strong attention to detail and understanding of document control best practices.
Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders including clients, designers, and contractors.
