A private household in Sussex is seeking an experienced and reliable live\-in domestic couple to take full responsibility for the day\-to\-day running, care, and maintenance of a country property, its outhouses, and surrounding gardens. This is a hands\-on role suited to a practical, self\-sufficient couple who take pride in maintaining a home to a high standard and working with discretion and initiative.
This is the familyâs countryside estate and serves as their second home. You will have your own separate outhouse, complete with a private bedroom, kitchen, living area, and bathroom.
Duties and Responsibilities
Household & Property Care
⢠Full housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, ironing, and household organisation
⢠Ongoing care and upkeep of the interior of the property
⢠Monitoring household systems and liaising with contractors when required
⢠Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs
⢠Receiving deliveries and overseeing property security
⢠Basic family cooking when required
⢠At least one of you should ideally hold a valid driving licence
Gardens & Grounds
⢠Maintenance of gardens and grounds, including general gardening tasks
⢠Ensuring outdoor areas are kept tidy and well maintained year\-round
Pets
⢠Daily care of household pets (1 cat and 1 dog), including feeding, exercise, and general wellbeing
General
⢠Flexibility to adapt to the familyâs routines and occasional changes to schedule
⢠Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues before they arise
Working Days & Hours
Ideally 9am to 6pm, Wednesday to Sunday. However, the family would consider a Tuesday to Saturday schedule, provided you are flexible and able to work weekends when the family are in residence (which are infrequent â please ask Monica for more information).
